Stars asks a different question from the standard leaderboards. Instead of "who is biggest right now?" it answers "who grew the most over the last 1, 2, 4 or 12 weeks?" The number you see in each row is the absolute growth (or, when the percentage sort is on, the relative growth) of that commander or alliance between two snapshots — not their total Power, THP or Kills.

That makes Stars the cleanest way to spot rising threats before they appear in the top of the regular rankings, scout recruits who actually progress every week, and audit your own alliance for members who stopped pulling weight after the last SVS. A big delta in Kills almost always traces back to one specific event week — usually a Buster Day; a big delta in Power tends to mean either a major training push or a tech tree unlock landed.
